About me.

Hello! My name is Tom Merlino, and I am the host of the Follow Me out of Debt podcast. I started the podcast in 2016 after deciding once and for all that it was time for a drastic change with regards to my personal finances.

Over the years prior to starting the show, there were good financial decisions made as well as some not-so-great ones. It was time to be real with myself and the situation, and get started doing something about it.

I started on a journey to gather as much information as possible on the topics of getting out of debt, saving money, and improving my family’s financial posture overall.

What I found throughout this journey was a mixture of great advice, advice that was outdated, and advice that was just plain bad. I weeded out the outdated and poor advice and kept only top-tier suggestions.

I carefully planned and tested many of these suggestions, and I was able to drill down even further to craft only the best plans for action. The end result from this journey is a show that comes to you every week with only premium, unrivaled results that have been tested and ready for you to apply yourself in your own journey to get out of debt and get into prosperity.

On this show, you will find a friendly voice, only the best advice on many topics, and camaraderie with folks just like you who have many of the same goals as you do.

Thank you for following me along on this exciting journey, and God bless.

Reviews from listeners just like you.

I was looking for a new podcast about debt management and this was the show that came up right next to Dave Ramsey. I was in amazement the second I started listening. Your voice is on point, and you have a great way of how you do your podcast. I am so pumped up for getting out of debt. You have given some amazing tips, and I started off at the current episode and went back and started to listen to every episode from the start.

I stumbled across this podcast as I searched for podcasts related to budgeting and debt. I am so glad that I found this particular podcast. Tom is so relatable, and the fact that he too has experienced debt as well definitely makes his approach more inviting. I have listened to the majority of his podcasts as well as browsed his website for his content there as well. I am so grateful that I found his podcast. Thank you. Thank you.

For the past several months, I was listening to The Dave Ramsey Show and stumbled across your show and decided to listen. I was very impressed because I feel as though if I called in to the other show, I would be yelled at for being stupid and that would only make matters worse. Your show allows me to breathe and know that although I have been stupid, I can change, and I can turn this situation around. Thank you for helping me see a much better future. I am 59, and I feel born again!
